Who can become a member

According to ART.15 of the UNITER Statute, the following Romanian citizens can be members of the UNITER Association:

  • actors;
  • artistic directors;
  • scenographers, painters and scenographer architects;
  • light designers and sound designers with higher education;
  • musical theatre artists, puppeteers and marionette artists, circus artists;
  • theatre critics;
  • theatre historians;
  • literary secretaries in theatre institutions;
  • other creators in the field of performing arts.

Members of the UNITER Association must hold a specialized higher education (bachelor’s, master’s or doctorate) in the field of theater or in related fields, of the nature of those shown above.
Artists who do not have higher education, but who have a constant and recognized artistic activity in the field of performing arts and a study exemption granted by the Ministry of Culture, may be members of the UNITER Association.

Any request will be analyzed and approved by the Validation Committee, which will forward it for final approval to the president of the UNITER Association.

Documents, submission and file analysis

The file must contain

  • application form
  • CV / Activity report
  • copy of the diploma of higher education in the field of theater or related fields (or study exemption issued by the Ministry of Culture)
  • 2 recommendations from the theater of origin and/or other UNITER members or personalities from the theater world
  • copy of identity card
  • 3 passport-type photos
  • (for retirees: copy of pension slip)

The file can be submitted in 4 methods:

File analysis

The files are analyzed during the UNITER Senate / Board of Directors meetings (approximately once every three months) and approved by the Validation Committee, which will submit them for final approval to the President of the UNITER Association.
