UNITER’s Senate

According to the UNITER’s Statute updated in accordance with the General Assembly Decision of September 29, 2014:

ART.9.

(1)  The Senate is the coordinating body of UNITER’s activity.

(2)  The UNITER’s Senate is made up of 15 full members and 4 alternates, who must necessarily include all the artistic professions that constitute the UNITER’s structure.

(3)  The President and the Executive Vice-President are ex officio members of the 15 full members of the Senate. The President has the right of veto. The other 13 members of the Senate, as well as the 4 alternate members of the UNITER’s Senate, are elected by the General Assembly for a period of 4 years, after the election of the President and the Executive Vice-President.

(4)  If vacancies arise in the Senate, they will be filled by alternates, in order of the number of votes obtained.

(5)  The work of the Senate is led by the president, and in his absence, by the executive vice president, who also provides the Senate’s secretariat.

ART.10.

(1)  The Senate meets at least once every 3 months, as well as when convened by the President or by at least 3 members of the Senate, and makes decisions by simple majority of those present and/or based on the communication of decisions by e-mail or by post.

(2)  If a member of the Senate is absent from 3 consecutive meetings without justification, he or she may be replaced through the Senate’s Decision by the alternate member with the highest number of votes, who becomes a full member.

 

ART.11. The Senate ensures the achievement of the association’s purpose and objectives, exercising the following powers:

a) establishes the general strategy and UNITER’s programs;

b) analyzes and approves UNITER’s programs, projects and activities;

c) periodically analyzes UNITER’s activity and recommends measures to improve it;

d) presents to the General Assembly the Activity Report for the previous period, the Execution of the Income and Expenditure Budget, the Balance Sheet, the Draft Income and Expenditure Budget and the draft programs of the association;

e) pursues the achievement of UNITER’s objectives according to the Statute and current legal norms;

f) awards the “For the entire activity” and “Excellence” awards;

g) confers the virtue of “UNITER’s Honorary Member”;

h) approves the offering of scholarships, prizes and grants for UNITER’s members (through specialized committees);

i) elects from among its members the Disciplinary Committee, consisting of 3 members, and UNITER’s Membership Validation Committee, consisting of 5 members;

j) approves the annual financial statements, the income and expenditure budget and the balance sheet;

k) approves the association’s organization chart and personnel strategy;

l) establishes, dissolves or transforms economic units, upon the President’s proposal;

m) accomplishes the legal duties of the employer regarding the establishment of the salary level of the President and the Vice President;

n) proposes the amendment of the Statute and submits it to the General Assembly for approval;

o) performs any other duties provided by law or the Statute;

p) establishes by vote the amount of the registration fee and membership fee;

q) approves the establishment of subsidiaries or commercial companies, respectively participation in the establishment of commercial companies.
