The project “Best Romanian Play of the Year”, started in 1990, is organized every year by UNITER and financed, starting with the 1992 edition, by The Princess Margaret of Romania Foundation. Since 2005, the Project has been developed under the aegis of the Royal House of Romania. The purpose of the project is to stimulate the emergence of new plays in order to maintain a diversified profile of Romanian theatre repertoire and Romanian drama, in general.
