The National Romanian Center of OISTAT – The International Organization of Theatre Scenographers, Technicians and Architects also functions within UNITER. Founded in 1970, the Center deals with the exchange of information, experience and knowledge between Romanian scenographers and their foreign counterparts, facilitates the participation of Romanian scenographers to international reunions and manifestations (exhibitions, congresses, seminars), organizes reunions at a national level to commemorate important figures of scenography and theatre architecture.
The Center sends delegations to take part in the activities of the specialized commissions of OISTAT: the commission for education, publications, technology, architecture, scenography, etc. The President of the Center is scenographer Dragos Buhagiar.
OISTAT has centers in 34 countries throughout the world, approximately 12,000 members, six active commissions with projects in the fields of education, technology, scenography, history and theory, publications and communication, architecture.
