THE NOMINATIONS for the 2003 UNITER AWARDS were made by a selection JURY made up of the following critics: Magdalena Boiangiu, Alice Georgescu and Mircea Morariu

  • Jacques or the Submission (Jacques sau supunerea) by Eugen Ionescu at the  State Hungarian Theatre in Cluj-Napoca (directed by: Tompa Gábor)
  • Oblomov, written by Mihaela Tonitza-Iordache after I.A. Goncearov’s homonymous novel, at the„L.S. Bulandra“ Theatre (directed by: Alexandru Tocilescu) – WINNER

  • Mihai Maniutiu for the shows The Jove Experiment (Experimentul Iov), written by Mihai Maniutiu after The Book of Jove, at the „Radu Stanca“ Theatre in Sibiu and The Tragical History of Doctor Faustus (Tragica istorie a doctorului Faust) by Christopher Marlowe at the State Hungarian Theatre in Cluj-Napoca – WINNER

The Award for Best Actor in a Leading Part

  • Biró József for the part Creon in the show Antigone by Sophocles at the „Tamási Áron“ Theatre in Sfantu Gheorghe
  • Bogdán Zsolt for the part Young Faust in the show The Tragical History of Doctor Faustus by Christopher Marlowe at the State Hungarian Theatre in Cluj-Napoca – WINNER
  • Marian Ralea for the part Jove in the show The Jove Experiment (Experimentul Iov), written by Mihai Maniutiu after The Book of Jove, at the „Radu Stanca“ Theatre in Sibiu

The Award for Best Actor in a Supporting Part

  • Tudor Chirila for the part Malvolio in the show Twelfth Night (A douasprezecea noapte) by William Shakespeare at the Comedy Theatre – WINNER
  • Sebastian Papaiani for the part Zahar in the show Oblomov, written by Mihaela Tonitza-Iordache after I.A. Goncearov’s homonymous novel, at the„L.S. Bulandra“ Theatre
  • Victor Rebengiuc for the part Jevakin in the show The Marriage (Casatoria) by N.V. Gogol at the „L.S. Bulandra“ Theatre

  • Elena Popa for the part Dora in the show “Our Parents’ sexual neuroses” by Lukas Bärfuss at the „Toma Caragiu“ Theatre in Ploiesti
  • Antoaneta Zaharia for the part The Child in the show “Why does the child wallop in the hominy” (De ce fierbe copilul in mamaliga) by Aglaja Veteranyi at the Odeon Theatre

The award for Best actress in a Supporting Part

  • Virginia Mirea for the part Agafia Matveevna in the show Oblomov, at „L.S. Bulandra Theatre “
  • Adriana Trandafir for the part Mama in the show “Why does the child wallop in the hominy” (De ce fierbe copilul in mamaliga) by Aglaja Veteranyi at Odeon Theatre – WINNER
  • Clara Voda for the part Ninuccia in the show “De Pretore” by Eduardo de Filippo at „L.S. Bulandra“ Theatre
